Independence Day 2019

We celebrated Independence Day in Henefer, UT where I grew up until I was 12.  We met up with some family at the Henefer Park where they have a cute little small town celebration with bounce houses, kid games, rock climbing wall, craft booths, etc. and then afterwards went to my grandparent's home for lunch.

Peter playing baseball with my grandpa.  I love this picture so much.
Claire and her cousin Lydia riding scooters together in my grandparent's driveway.  I spent a lot of time playing here in my childhood and it is so special to get to see my kids play here too.
After spending all afternoon at my grandparents we headed back to Ogden.  We picked up snow cones then decided to go home and rest for a bit, especially since Peter was already asleep in the van.  Our kids were exhausted from the heat and from playing hard all day.  We ended up ordering pizza from The Pie (our fave!) for dinner and then introduced our kids to a very appropriate Independence Day film: The Sandlot.  Claire loved it and Peter loved watching the kids play baseball.
After we finished watching the Sandlot we took our kids outside to light sparklers and then watched fireworks from our front porch.

Happy Independence Day!
