Today you are 3 months old. You are a whopping 18 pounds. You have the cutest chubby cheeks and thighs. I don't know why, but chubby rolls are the cutest on babies! You are sleeping like a champ, usually 8-9 hours at night only waking up to eat once. You still eat quite often during the day, usually every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. But I have no complaints as I would rather have you eating often during the day than waking up a lot at night. You have started smiling and cooing all the time. You always save your biggest smiles for mama, and I won't lie, I love it. You especially love when I sing to you and your little smile fills your whole face. Your dad and sister can get some good smiles out of you too. Claire loves talking to you and trying all sorts of ways to get you to smile. You are such a sweet mellow boy. You love to be held and cuddled but you are also pretty content to just lay on a blanket and watch your surroundings. You are starting to stay awake longer and its been fun for us to interact with you more. Your favorite friend besides mom, dad, and Claire is the ceiling fan. You seriously love it and get so excited when we lay you on our bed and you get to watch it. You smile, coo, and kick your legs until you wear yourself out. We still love to call you our little Peter Pan, that's the nickname that seems to be sticking the most. I don't think we have a choice but to dress you and Claire up as Peter Pan and Tinkerbell for Halloween next month. I've started planning out your costumes and I'm so excited to see how they turn out. Hopefully you don't grow too much by then so your costume will fit! Love you too much sweet boy, Mom
Peter has been smiling a ton lately and I finally caught a few on camera, which was no small feat because as soon as I'd try and take a picture he'd always stop! He is the cutest. We are all smitten with him.
June 27 Dear Peter, You turned 2 months old today. Your second month of life was much easier on us. You started sleeping 6-7 hour stretches at night between feedings and are on a 2 1/2 hour feeding schedule during the day. We are all feeling much more rested and I'm able to get a lot more done during the day other than just feeding you. You just keeping putting on more and more chub, and I absolutely love it. I pretty much keep you in just a diaper all of the time so I can giggle at your cute rolls all day long. I'm not sure what your weight exact weight is, but according to our scale at home your are somewhere around 15-16 pounds. I will update this after we take you to the doctor in a couple weeks. We have given you a few nicknames over the past few weeks. Mine and Claire's favorite is Peter Pan. Your dad calls you Peter the Impossible, which comes from the story of how we decided your name which I will have to write down later. You also get called a variation of chubby boy, chubster, and chubbers. You are still a really an easy going baby. You mostly just eat and sleep still with a few minutes of awake time in between. Your sister Claire is still pretty smitten with you, although you doesn't like to hold you for very long since you are getting "So hebby!" as she says. She likes to hold your hands and wave them up and down and pretend you are dancing. I'm sure you love when she does this :). You finally started smiling really smiles today. You've been so close for awhile but we had a hard time getting you to keep eye contact. You are finally getting better at it and will smile at me whenever I hold you on my lap and talk to you. You are just such a sweet boy and your little smiles melt into a puddle. I'm so glad I get to be your mom! Love you too much, Mom P.S. We took you to the doctor at 2 1/2 months and you weighed 17 pounds 3 ounces, and were 25 1/2 inches. You are in the 99th percentile in weight and height. Just to give you a comparison at 2 1/2 months old you are one pound shy of what your sister Claire weighed at one year old! You are going to give your mom some killer biceps.
Dear Peter, Today you turned 1 month old. I think it has been the fastest month of my life. Taking care of you and your big sister Claire keeps me so busy the days just seem to fly by. You have been such a sweet addition to our family. It's hard to even remember what it was like before you were here as it already feels like you've always been with us. Your big sister Claire adores you. It has been so fun for me to see her embrace her new role as a big sister. She is always helping me with diaper changes, burping, getting your binky etc., and is constantly smothering you with hugs and kisses. Luckily you don't seem to mind and tolerate it pretty well. You are a really easy baby, which has made the transition from one to two kids relatively easy on your mama. You love to sleep, and LOVE to eat. You eat every two hours around the clock. While I'm a bit tired from the constant feedings, especially the night ones, you rarely cry or fuss so I won't complain too much! Thanks to your constant eating, you have gotten nice and chubby in the last month. My wish for an extra chubby baby came true this time around! You were born smaller than your big sister, but already outweigh what she did at one month. At your 2 week appointment you already weighed 9 lb 3 oz and according to our scale at home you are now already over 10 pounds! You still have your cute old man hair you were born with; lots in the back, a little on the top, and no hair in the front. Your eyes are still really blue and I'm really crossing my fingers they will stay blue or turn green like your dad's. Your dad doesn't think they will stay and thinks they will likely go brown like mine and your sister's. Time will tell! I'm usually right though so you better not let your dad win this one ;). You have been such a great blessing in our lives and we are beyond grateful to have you in our family. You are already so loved! I'm so excited to watch you grow and change and see the person you will grow up to be. Love you too much, Mom
