Tot School: Week 18 Christmas

The week before Christmas, for week 18 of Tot School, our theme was "Christmas" of course :).  It was a short week because we had a lot going on but we still managed to fit in a few fun activities:

Day 1:  We did lots of Christmas dot paint worksheets, Claire loves these and we worked on different things like the letter C, patterns, and numbers while doing them.  We also watched Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer to start checking off all our Christmas movies off our list!
Day 2:  We did a Christmas sensory bin with pretend snow, that Claire loved.  This was pretty messy but Claire had a blast throwing the snow up in the air and yelling, "Look mom!  It's snowing!".  We read a bunch of our Christmas books, and watched Frosty the Snowman.
Day 3:  We made a cotton-ball Christmas tree painting and played with the Christmas sensory bin again.
Day 4:  We made gingerbread houses!  This was by far one of her favorite activities.  She thought our little houses were so cute and she loved getting to eat lots of trees while we decorated them.  I also got out my guitar and Claire got to use some bell instruments while we sang Christmas carols.  We also watched the Santa Clause that night when Bryce was home with popcorn and M&Ms to get us all ready for Christmas Eve which was the next day.

Tot School: Weeks 15 & 16 Winter

For weeks 15 & 16 of Tot School our theme was Winter.  I decided to make this a 2 week theme because there were a lot of fun activities I wanted to do with Claire!

Day 1:  Claire got to decorate her little Christmas tree to put in her and Peter's room.  It also snowed on day 1 (couldn't have asked for better timing!) so during Peter's nap we played outside in the snow and built snowmen!  We also read our Snowmen winter books.
Day 2:  We made snowflakes to tape in our windows.  Claire colored some of them while I cut them all out!  Claire did a snowflake painting, and we we made marshmallow snowmen.
Day 3:  We read our stack of winter books and Claire did a bunch of dot paintings and winter coloring pages.

Day 4:  We read Flora & the Penguin and made the cutest cotton ball penguin craft!  We both loved how this one turned out!  Claire also did some penguin coloring pages later in the day.

Day 5 & 6: We read the book Gingerbread baby & made gingerbread cookies! We made the dough and cooked the cookies on day 5 and then on day 6 we decorated them. 


Day 7: We made a few Snowman & Christmas tree paintings.  We also watched Frozen and ate Claire got to eat pretend snowballs (mini marshmallows) for her snack.  These were all of the books we used throughout the week!  
Day 8:  We read snowmen at work and shoveled the driveway for dad! (No pictures, I forgot to use my camera this day :).
